When Todd Fulginiti recently published a post There is Try: Why Yoda Was Wrong it made me want to know more about whether he’s always been open to trying new things and if there is something or someone that inspires that cycle of resilience. Luckily we were able to talk about all that and more in this latest Wise & Shine podcast: Episode 12: On Trying New Things

Wynne Leon is an optimist, an enthusiast of endurance sports and a woman intent in charting her own path. Which is a combination that has led to an unconventional life. When she was younger a life of adventure meant climbing mountains, traveling the world and being an entrepreneur.
More recently, it’s been starting a family as a single parent at age 46, having another child at age 50 and adopting a highly-strung kitten, even though she really is a dog person.
In addition to blogging, her writing includes technical computer manuals, articles about meditation and parenting, and Finding My Father’s Faith, a memoir about spirituality, solace and her relationship with her beloved father.

I’m trying to think of a podcast that was more fun and inspirational…and I can’t! This was a great listen…I’m a fan of the encouragement to “lean in” and try the uncomfortable…take a few risks. You two shared terrific examples of doing just that…but also shared where your limits are. 🙂I’m with you, Wynne about shark meat – rotten or not…and Todd, like you, I don’t want to risk life and limb for fun…but I’m glad you took the risk with the cool video you made. I was glad Wynne recalled that. It WAS awesome. Thanks for the smiles…oh — and the fun Thomas Edison tattoo/lightbulb sharing. (For anyone reading, you’ll need to listen…Edison didn’t have a tattoo – that we know of – but there’s a fun exchange in the podcast about Edison, perseverance and a tattoo, just the same!)
Oh, I’m laughing about whether Edison had a tattoo. Not that we know of — hilarious!
Thank you for listening and for your generous feedback. It was a fun podcast to do with Todd!
Only fair that I made you smile – the podcast did that for me! 😉
🙂 🙂 <3
Thanks for listening and for the feedback Victoria! So maybe Edison DID have a tattoo haha 🤔
Sounds like a great episode. Can’t wait to listen! 😃
Thanks, Kendra!! 🙂
I had to go listen, after reading Vicki’s comment, and she was right! It was exactly the right mix of fun and inspiration. I think I smiled the whole way through. 😃
I was relating to Todd on the music stuff – and his pain avoidance comments. 😁 Wynne talking about ladders made me realize I only want to experience mountain climbing vicariously. Maybe a Go-Pro next time, Wynne? 😆
Loved the reference to Ally Bean’s mantra at the end – I’d forgotten about it, and it’s such a good one! Just an overall delightful post, and one packed full of good stuff! Makes me want to try something new. Thank you both! 🤍
Oh, wow – what a lovely comment and I’m so grateful for this feedback, Kendra! Podcasting is very new for me so it’s wonderful to hear what stuck out to you.
As far as the GoPro goes – it’s a complete art form for the people that can make mountain climbing movies since there is a lot of repetition, to say the least. Do you follow Jimmy Chin on Instagram? He is an amazing climber and incredible photographer/movie maker? He’s been posting some incredible stuff lately if you want to see some cool shots!
Thanks for the great comment, my friend!
You certainly can’t tell it’s new for you! And I don’t follow Jimmy Chin, but I’ll go and check out his site now – sounds interesting! Thanks again for the great podcast. 😊
Thanks Kendra- I really appreciate the feedback!
Absolutely! Inspiring listen for sure – and fun!
This is a fantastic episode!
Thanks, Fairen!
