How often do you pay attention at your strengths compared to your weaknesses? Whatever your answer is, I’m sure that ratio can be improved. We would like to be flawless and because of it, we tend to focus more on our weaknesses, which is not necessarily a winning strategy.
We’re all good at something and we all suck at something else. If we manage to switch our focus from our sucking areas to the great ones, we can be up to something. For example, two of my strengths are to be disciplined and consistent (which I must admit, they weren’t always my strengths) and one of my biggest weaknesses is that I lose my motivation very fast. This happens because I’m impatient and I want immediate extraordinary results even though I know it’s not possible. Whenever I find myself in this situation, I try to switch my focus from the immediate results (a thing that demotivates me because the results can never reach my expectations) to find ways to be consistent in whatever I do (providing a post and a Question of the Day each day for this blog helped me a lot in this area). Instead of looking at the results, I look at whatever I need to do for the next day.
Maybe some of you have such a low self-esteem due to the life you had until this point that you consider you have no strengths. That’s as false as a hairy fish. You do have strengths, you just learned that you don’t have. You need to unlearn that and search deeper to find them. If you didn’t have any strengths, you wouldn’t be here right now and you would be cat food or something. If you don’t believe me, listen to the dudes and dudettes below. They will teach you something.
Which one of your strengths will push you forward from now on?
A great post that is necessary for most people to focus on.
Thank you! 🙂
I have to admit it, that was inspiring.
Thank you! I’m glad it helped you!
Oh, I just really like how you make me think about things. 🙂 Thanks!
Awesome! Thank you for reading and for sharing your thoughts!
A very inspiring post indeed.
Thank you!
Very true! Awesome!
I’m glad you liked it! 😀
It’s inspiring. And more importantly, applying what’s said in 2019 in my life.
What would you like to achieve in 2019?
To be more creative and think differently more than what I already am doing.
Welp, better get up and work on my writing.
Do it! The time is passing by quicker than we realize…
Our strengths are as an asset to overcome weaknesses.
Exactly!
