“If you ask a thousand people if they want to be rich, every one except the poet and the mystic will say yes.” -BR
If someone asked you if you wanted to be rich, with all the conveniences and consequences considered, would you say yes or no?

As a self-proclaimed poet, I’d also say no.

🧐… not rich enough to want more and more and forever more.
Amen to that!
No. What will I do with a substantial amount of money? If I can’t sleep at night😂
Exactly how I feel! Internal peace is what matters most…. of course sleep too 😉
internal peace💯
Jim Carey said I wish everyone could become rich and famous so they can see it’s not the answer. I’m not sure I can honestly say I would turn down free money, but I certainly wouldn’t look towards it to make me happy. Of course you have to be careful what you say yes to. Often it’s the things we acquire for security that end up imprisoning us. Great question
umm..I think I will answer yes. There’s anything bad in that provided I get to chose how will I get rich😅. If I get rich by doing something I love to do, then that can be a good idea.
Now that’s a perspective you got there Sohanpreet!
thank you.
Welcome 🙂
That’s correct Pratima Wahane
Hi thanks for all the likes can I ask if your a boy or girl
Back about twenty to twenty-five years ago my husband had a job that really raked in the money. No, I wouldn’t say we were rich by any means, but the income was higher than I have ever experienced. Both my husband and I were miserable despite all the extra we had. My husband left that job because of the misery and we’ve been happier ever since. No, I do not want to be rich.
That’s true G. J. Jolly. Here’s to your happiness that’s always more important than the money.
Hi E. L. Jayne!
I was wondering what if the question never meant rich as in money?
I also thought so..rich can be in so many ways..
True
If being rich comes with peace and ease I’ll take two please….
Rich. Money buys, among other things, the time to write poetry.
I’m going to say yes, not because I’m crazy about money, but because I think having lots of money gives us choices that we wouldn’t otherwise have. For example, if I were a rich man, I could spend the day writing and doing art and wouldn’t have had to get up early (like I did today) to spend my day working for someone else. I could “work” for myself. I could travel more. I also think it’s not either/or. I think a person can be a poet and/or a mystic and a rich person at the same time.
Tough one! While I would never want to be born rich, if someone offered me millions of dollars right now, I’d take it. Like Troy said, money often presents opportunity. If all bills were paid for the rest of my life, there would be A LOT more time to focus on the things and people I love. Kind of a sad thought, huh? Anyway, life is still so very lovely as is. Great question, my friend! 🕊
Also, I love the photo and quote! 🕊
Just enough amount of money to sustain our needs and be able to help others.🙏
It’s a nice perspective in a world that doesn’t exist. Sadly we’ve come to rely on money to survive. Having a surplus where I can make more, but more importantly I can pay my bills and keep my friends and family happy? You can’t turn that down
How does one define the term ‘rich’? 😁
