I usually buck the trend of list-style writing because generally, I don’t like it. It kind of seems lazy to me for some reason. But, I guess that’s the kind of mood I’m in today, so here we go with a list of the Top 10 Killer Combos in the world (according to me).
They come from a variety of subject areas, but I decided not to include people-specific duos like Sonny & Cher, Abbott and Costello, etc. (not saying those couples would have made the list anyway).
Here they are– in no certain order:
- Pepperoni and green pepper on a pizza
- Trumpet and tenor sax as the horn section in a band (definitely no alto saxophones)
- Peanut butter and jelly (even though I’m allergic to peanuts I respect that this combo is so loved by people of all ages)
- Rice and beans (there are so many dishes from so many cultures that involve some variation of rice and beans)
- Good beer and good pretzels (both must be of high quality or the thing doesn’t work)
- Sweatpants and a hoodie
- Copy and paste (how stupid would they be alone, yet how powerful they are together!)
- Chocolate and literally almost anything
- Stories with friends and a campfire
- Hugs and people who smell good
Admittedly, I didn’t think too long or too hard about this list and I’m sure I have omitted some really good ones. So please, chime in with your own below in the comments.
And if you want to know what I was thinking last week, you can read this post about the complications of over improved public bathrooms. There’s a good chance you may not have seen it last week because WordPress messed up the timestamp and I think it disappeared in the feed.

Now I know why I like you! Pepperoni and green peppers? Check! Peanut butter & jelly? Check but please – for your own safety – do NOT eat it! Good beer and pretzels…emphasis on GOOD? Check! Sweatpants and a hoodie? Check! People who smell good AND hugs? Check! Now let’s gather around a campfire! 🥰
Thanks Victoria! Sounds like we both have good taste 🤣😜😁
😉😎😉
Okay, I’m curious…good beer…what are a couple of your favorites?
We’ll, I know this is highly subjective, but 4 beers I like are: most things by Hofbrau, Shiner’s Holiday Cheer, Leinenkugel’s Summer Shandy, and Sam Adams Porch Rocker 🍻
How about you?
Those are all good picks. We have Holiday Cheer in the fridge now.
I’m a stout fan – Guinness, of course, also Left Hand Peanut Butter stout. I’ll do just about any Hefeweizen, and some sours. I also like trying locals on tap, as long as they’re *not* hoppy.
I’m also a fan of sours and “not hoppy” stuff 😎
Well Todd, from this post I can see that we don’t share a similar taste for food at all! Pizza should be always “Margherita”, the original one. Peanuts butter and jelly? No way! Rice and beans, it reminds me of the Caribbean islands, where they don’t have much of a choice for vegetarians like me and I ended up by eating often (too often) rice and beans. But I agree with the rest of combos. Nice post Todd!
Haha oh well- we can still be friends! 😁 I’ve heard that the original margherita pizzas are best- I need to get to Europe and try some!
The real margherita can be found in Naples, that by the way it’s also a wonderful city!
Someday I hope to get there!
I’m a sucker for sausage and green peppers myself so you got me off the bat with your list. And hugs and people that smell good. Yes! One more – hot chocolate chip cookies with vanilla ice cream.
Yes!! That’s a 5 star combo for sure! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
