This talk was first published on my personal blog, but it was too funny not to share again! 🤭
It all started with a simple misunderstanding—chapels or flip-flops? One person loses their flip-flops, while the other takes it as a divine sign… and suddenly, things take a hilariously unexpected turn! 😆

While you’re on the journey of discovery, check out my latest blog post on my personal blog «Ancient Wisdom For Modern Life». It is a talk about what Yoga is really about. I sat down with my ashram teacher, Mandipji, and explored the true essence of yoga philosophy and how its ancient wisdom can offer practical guidance for modern living.

Hi Parisa! Wow- what a great story! 😂 How did you come to call flip flops chapels?
Was it just me not knowing English well enough?
Back when I first visited India in my early 20s, I remember hearing people call them “chapels” instead of “sandals.” At least, that’s what I thought! Whether that was actually the case or just my own misunderstanding—I can’t say for sure! I blame it on them🤣😅😅😅always easier to blame it on others, no?
Haha for sure! Maybe chapels is a slang word for them that never made it to the US?
I assure you, Indians are experts at creating slang—both linguistically and in many other innovative ways!
😁😁
It was fun watching g the video again Parisa!
Hahaha, happy you enjoyed it.
