First of all, I want to thank you for reading this. I know how important your time is and I really appreciate you spend some of it reading my post. Each of our lives is so important and unique that we cannot afford to spend any second of it on things that can’t help us or the people around us one way or another.
Now, let’s get this post started. Have you ever wondered why is important to have a goal? I know you’ve heard many times that the journey is the most important, not the destination. While I agree with this idea, I’d like to emphasize that without a destination, there would be no journey. So the first thing where having a goal helps is that it creates a path to follow. Of course, that doesn’t mean it’s a good path or a bad path, but it is a path which can be altered afterwards. It’s a purpose which sets our mind on a certain way and that way will bring similar thoughts that might help (or not) follow the path.
But a goal is not only a path; it’s a purpose in life. Have you ever completed something by accident? Maybe you did, but while trying something else, so a goal was involved even though it might have had nothing to do with the result. If you have to pee, you won’t pee if your goal isn’t to go to the bathroom, unless you’re a baby, an elder dude or dudette or you have some sort of illness and you can’t control your bladder. As I mention in my book, Fighting the Inside Dragons, not having a goal is like having a fridge full with random ingredients, but no recipe. Once you have your recipe, you’ll know what you need to do in order to get things done.
What goals do you have in life?
