Why dwelling on the past? It’s natural to cherish fond memories and learn from past experiences, but clinging to the weight of the past can hinder your present happiness. Letting go is easier said than done, I know. Like the time I encountered an irate commuter on the subway who berated me for taking an empty seat beside him. His reason? I hadn’t asked permission, and apparently, my left leg brushed against his right one. Ridiculous, right? Yet, reliving that moment still stirs up feelings of anger and frustration.
But dwelling on past grievances achieves nothing. It’s like carrying around a backpack filled with heavy stones, maybe there are beautiful flowers in there too, but the weight of the rocks becomes unbearable. So, how do you lighten your load?
