Hello there! How are you doing today? How was the week? I had a relaxing week. This is the last calm week before the storm so I am trying to make the most of it.
Here is the question for today: If you were to to explain what keeps us together and helps us going in one word, what would that word be? I would say ‘hope’.
Life is hard. We face a lot of difficulties. Sometimes, those difficulties push us to the edge and we want to give up. But we are still here. What keeps us going? I think it is hope. Hope that things will be better. Hope that maybe things can change. Hope that we will be heard. Even if we feel terrible on the outside, I believe that there is a little corner inside of us where hope resides. We do not feel it directly but it still operates. I think hope got me through last year’s struggles. I was at my worst times (may it stay the worst) but I still got through it. I think it was my hope that things would improve that made is possible. It was my hope that still made me finish up my dissertation in between tears, get my life-coaching certificate and eventually find a job. Without that hope, I would probably have not done much.
I think hope is the ultimate feeling that we have that makes life possible. It is hope that helps us keep trying in our usual daily lives. We continue doing what we do and maybe even improve our situation because we hope for a better life and a better future. Do you agree? Are there other reasons we keep going (I am thinking responsibility can be another -being responsible for a family, company etc)). Have you noticed how hope keeps you going? Let me know!
