Movie Thoughts – Perfect Strangers (2017)

Movie Thoughts   This is a Spanish movie about seven friends having dinner together that decide to play a game in which all incoming notifications will be shared with the whole group (including calls and messages), leading to surprising discoveries (you can read more about it here). It’s the perfect example of how different people are and that you can never know everything about the ones around you.

What’s interesting is that time has no impact here. Some of the people are friends, relatives or even married for 15+ years and they still don’t now each other that deep. And what’s even more interesting is that they never saw it coming so they weren’t even paying that much of attention. It’s a perfect example of how we’re letting ourselves influenced by our own thoughts and beliefs and because of this we can’t truly pay attention to the ones around us.

Yes, they lied to each other and that’s not moral and fair, but that’s what people are and I think there’s a deeper meaning here. I realized that people are more willing to lose their sense of right/moral and they’re more willing to feel guilt in their pursuit of the things they think they want instead of losing what they already have in their life. People want all and they don’t want to lose anything and they’re prepared to suffer some internal pain like guilt instead of suffering from loss.

Have you watched the movie? If so, what do you think?
